A drive, a power supply or an uplink can fail without your site going down.
Redundant hosting means the infrastructure behind your website has backup paths for the things most likely to fail. Power has more than one source. Network connectivity has more than one route. Storage is arranged so a failing drive does not lose your data. Servers have more than one power supply.
The point is not that failures never happen. Hardware fails, that is what hardware does. The point is that a single failure should be an event our engineers deal with, not an outage your customers notice.

What redundant infrastructure does not mean.
Redundancy reduces risk. It does not remove it. Here is exactly where the line sits, so you can plan for what is on the other side of it.
- We do not claim to be fully redundant or to have zero single points of failure. No hosting platform honestly can
- We do not offer guaranteed or 100% uptime. We offer a 99.99% SLA with defined credits, written into the agreement
- We do not provide automatic geographic failover or multi-datacenter replication. If you need that, tell us and we will scope it for you
- Backups are a safety net, not a certainty. Keep your own copies of anything business-critical

Questions about reliability.
Is Blue Arctic hosting fully redundant?
Our infrastructure has redundancy at the layers that matter most (power, network and storage), plus off-site backups and continuous monitoring. That is meaningfully different from a single server with a single power supply. Even so, “fully redundant” is not a claim any host can truthfully make, so we don’t make it.
Does redundancy mean guaranteed uptime?
No. Nobody can guarantee uptime, and a provider promising 100% is selling you a refund policy with better marketing. What we offer is a 99.99% uptime SLA with defined credits, infrastructure built to reduce single points of failure, and monitoring around the clock. Credits are claimed by ticket within 30 days, and the schedule is in the service level agreement.
Do I need a special plan to get this?
No. Every Blue Arctic hosting product runs on the same infrastructure described here: Shared Web Hosting from $7.95/mo, Managed WordPress Hosting, and Cloud Servers. There is no separate “redundant hosting” plan to buy. The reliability is the baseline rather than an upgrade.
Are backups part of redundancy?
They are a different layer, and both matter. Redundancy keeps the service running through a component failure. Backups let you recover from something redundancy cannot help with: a bad plugin update, a mistaken deletion, a compromise. Blue Arctic keeps off-site backups, and we would still encourage you to keep your own copies of anything business-critical.
